Having been managing teams for about 15 years and most of them being fairly successful teams, I was just trying to match all the above points to the teams that I was managing in the past.
I was not able to attribute one thing that was common to everyone that made them effective, but one thing I was able to decipher is, all my team members were absolutely happy and that could be the result of one of the above or few of the above depending on the need of the individual team members.
My team members hardly went home for few weeks, there were instances were the salaries were not paid on time, sometimes technology was from stone age, few times poor support system in and around office and approaching to office but still almost all the team members were happy and they contributed their best. Inspite of working with so many constraints did pull off challenging results also during turbulent times.
So keeping the employees ‘Happy’ is the new mantra of effectiveness and unparalleled productivity. Happy teams are high performing teams. In my next post, will detail out the reasons for them to be happy in spite of not having many of the things that are mentioned above which comes to our mind when we think about Employee Engagement.
